I’ve been a fly tier for over forty years and until recently struggled here and there with having materials, mostly threads and flosses, get caught and fray on rough spots on my fingers and hands. Now there is a product that does a great job in correcting this inconvenience. Yosemite Brand Fly Tyer’s Finger Treatment is a unique, blended group of 100% naturally made ingredients and was developed and designed for those who hand- tie fishing flies. With this product, tying threads, silks, floss, hackles, and other material becoming caught on rough fingers, cuticles, and hands, is significantly reduced if not eliminated entirely.
This product is not sticky when applied in small amounts and is intended for use on cuticles and fingers. While this product looks somewhat like a cream, it is NOT actually a cream and does not apply like one. It comes packaged in ½ ounce hard plastic container, which is sealed with a “freshness” seal to keep it from drying out. This product is specifically blended to soften the cuticle while smoothing the fine, rough edges of surrounding broken skin. It accomplishes this without leaving excess residue on the skin’s surface and is colorless when applied and also odorless. It also washes clean very quickly with soap and water. I used this product at a fly tying demonstration during which I tied for two consecutive days, eight straight hours each day. I applied it in the morning and at noon of each day and literally forgot that it was there, because I did not have any materials catching on my fingers or hands at all during the show. In my opinion, no fly tying bench should be without this product. I know mine isn’t! I keep one at home and also in my travel supplies so that I always have it when I’m doing public fly tying demonstrations. So stop fraying and breaking your threads and silk floss right now by giving this fine and useful product a try.
